Brad Inglis

Minister

Brad is delighted to have joined the team at Lansing United Church in May 2022 and looks forward to working in the community, with neighbours and the ecumenical partners who make up the church coalition of Willowdale.

Brad was ordained at the Hamilton Conference Annual Meeting on May 30th, 2015. Ministry is a second or third career for him (he ran out of excuses for not following his call).

Brad worked for more than 20 years in social services in both the Region of Waterloo and Wellington County. He has served as executive director of Big Brothers of Cambridge, the executive director of the Community Resource Centre in Fergus/Elora and has worked with marginalized adults, youth support/vulnerable youth, crisis intervention, emergency housing, licensed child care and drug addictions throughout his career.

Originally from Guelph, Brad spent the previous 10 years with Tobermory United Church. He began the masters of divinity program at Emmanuel College in January 2010 and completed his degree in December 2014 while in Tobermory. Brad is also a graduate from the University of Guelph with a degree in Sociology. Trinity United Church in Guelph is where Brad grew up and began his faith journey. He always says that everything he ever learned, he learned at Trinity. As a community of faith they have supported, nurtured and encouraged him throughout his youth and adult life and while working on his MDiv – Trinity has always been home.

Brad believes that ministry uses all of him – all that he has experienced and learned, all that he does and all that he has to give. He believes that we find the Spirit of God in the most unexpected places and it takes us far beyond the traditional Sunday morning worship. Living and working in Tobermory was a life-giving gift that Brad will always carry with him. Now at the other end of the spectrum, living and working Toronto is a new gift, with wonderful opportunities and exciting challenges. Lansing United Church has created a progressive, safe and affirming community hub that is both welcoming and inclusive – a place that is exactly suited for Brad at this time in his life. He believes there has never been a better time to be “church” as we learn new ways of doing things, open our hearts to where the Spirit is calling us and be prepared to live our faith through action. Brad is thrilled to serve this community of faith and neighbourhood and he is always happy to connect – don’t hesitate to give him a call! 416-221-1722 ext. 102

Chris Kovarik

Music Leadership

Please join council in welcoming Chris Kovarik as music director for the next 6 weeks as we search for a permanent music director.
Chris has been a church music director for many years, starting with a small Anglican parish in Windsor, Ontario, in the early 1990s. This was followed by several positions in Vancouver, BC, Kingston, ON, and Lake Ronkonkoma, NY. She has studied with several prominent organists, including David Palmer, David Cameron, and Darryl Nixon, and has sung with very fine choirs at churches in Windsor, Vancouver, and Toronto (as well as too many other choirs to list).
As a composer and arranger, Chris has worked with ensembles across Canada and the United States, including the Vancouver Symphony, the Windsor Symphony, Vancouver New Music, Redshift Music Society, the Vancouver Men's Chorus, and many others. She has composed for a wide variety of solo instrumentalists and ensembles, and has had several works released on CD on the Redshift label.
