A Message from Pastoral Care and Outreach…
Earlier in 2023 it was agreed that 75% of the funds raised through the Nearly New Shop would be allocated back out into the community. Here are how the funds of over $20K were distributed in 2023:
❤️ NeighbourLink Food Hub program.
❤️ Don Valley Refugee Resettlers Program (DVRR).
❤️ NeighbourLink for their Backpack Program.
❤️ Toby's Place - A safe(r) space for queer, trans, and questioning youth in Scarborough.
❤️ Friends of Ruby – a support program for two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual and all gender non-conforming youth (aged 16-29) by providing free counselling, housing and social services.
❤️ Saint Luke's United – to help support their nutritional food program for their encampment neighbours.
❤️ The 519 food security program
❤️ City Lights Break Jam event that took place in November 2023
❤️ Fred Victor Centre (a Lansing Ladies tradition)
❤️ Massey Centre for Women (a Lansing Ladies tradition)
