WORSHIP

The Lansing Coffee Bar  – Open Sundays at 9:30 am every week! Come early, have a juice or coffee before and after church – visit with friends, take some time for yourself, enjoy some quiet prayer in the sanctuary…just come and be. Our worship service starts at 10:00 am on Sundays and is followed by refreshments and fellowship. This is a family-friendly service where all are welcome!

Please note…that you are welcome to wear your mask at your own discretion. Mask wearing is not required any longer in the church building but please do what is best for you. If you find it is important for you to keep wearing your mask, please do so.

This Sunday, September 14th - 14th Sunday after Pentecost - Creation Time Begins!

Rev. Dale is working from 1 Timothy 1:12-17 and Luke 15:1-10 (NRSV)

Sunday School available during the service.
Our service this week is being led by the LUC Worship Committee and Friends. Thank you to all that helped with the service!

Rev. Dale’s Bio:
Dale grew up in Lansing United after WW II. Dale (ZE) was Confirmed on January 8, 1956. Dale taught Sunday School and participated in all the Youth activities.  The call to ministry was first felt during those years of growth. Teaching Elementary school, raising a family and volunteering in various positions in the church communities filled all of Dale’s time, until the opportunity for further education presented itself. Dale graduated from Emmanuel College and was ordained in May 1988 by Toronto Conference.  ZE has served 5 congregations in 3 Conferences. Dale last served full time at Covenant United Church in Timmins, ON. Retired for several years, Dale (ZE) continued to offer leadership in many places and congregations in Manitou Conference including the Manitou Conference United Church Women. Dale moved to North York in the fall of 2021 for Cochlear Implant surgery.

Yearly Fire Drill - Sunday, October 5th during the 10 am Worship Service.

NEXT Church Council Meeting - Sunday, October 19th following the 10 am Worship Service. Open to all.

2SLGBTQIA+ SENIORS AND FRIENDS (STARTS THIS TUESDAY)
Join us for community, conversation and connection.  We are a warm and welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ seniors and their friends to come together, share stories, enjoy companionship and build meaningful relationships.  Every Tuesday 12-2 pm in the Studio. Accessible entrance.
No cost to attend. All are welcome!

QUILTING BEE

If you are interested in joining, please let the office know and we can put you in touch with the group. They meet on Wednesdays from 1-3:30 pm in room 217.

COFFEE WITH BRAD (NOT MEETING SEPTEMBER 17TH)

Wednesdays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm 

Coffee with Brad is an informal "drop in" and visit with whomever is here. There is no agenda, come whenever it suits you, bring a friend or neighbour. Brad will have coffee and tea available (and the option of decaf). Stay for as long or as short as you like. This is just an opportunity to connect. Join us Wednesdays from 1-3 pm in the Studio.

LUC CHOIR

The LUC Choir practices Wednesdays in the Sanctuary from 7 pm - 10 pm. All are welcome. For more information, contact Chris at musicdirector@lansingchurch.com 

WORSHIP SERVICE & HYMN SING AT CHARTWELL LANSING

Thursday, September 25th @ 2:30 pm - worship service and hymn sing at Chartwell Lansing Retirement Home on Senlac. Meet there or come to the church at 2pm and ride with Brad. 

MONTHLY BIBLE STUDY AT CHARTWELL LANSING RETIREMENT HOME

Join Brad as he leads a bible study/conversation group at the Chartwell Lansing Retirement Home on Senlac. Come to the church at 2 pm and ride with Brad or meet him there. The next 2025 date is still to be determined. Please contact the office or check back for updates.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS

The Nearly New Shop is accepting donations Monday to Friday from 10 am - 4 pm. Volunteers are always appreciated and please remind your friends and neighbours that donations are accepted all week long. For more information, please visit our Nearly New Shop page on the Community & Outreach tab above.  Join us on Saturday, September 13th from 10-1 as we re-open the Shop after the summer break for the return of our monthly Saturday shopping days.  We look forward to seeing you there!
