About Us

‘The Nearly New Shoppe’ was created by Faye Otty in 1978, in response to a community need for quality used clothing. It starts off small, every Wednesday, within Lansing Church’s old Sanctuary, with volunteers assisting with set-up and take-down.

Within 3 months, it grows significantly to include housewares, jewelry and children’s toys! Volunteers build wooden tables and displays for the clothing and stands for the hanging jewelry. More volunteers come on board to help sort, store and create displays.

In June 2025, we start personal shopping appointments. Nearly New is going strong, with its largest sales to date and a roster of over 30 volunteers!
