The Lansing United Church Food Bank has been serving the local Lansing/Willowdale/North York community for more than 30 years. Starting out with just a few items on a shelf in the Minister's office, our food bank has grown substantially to serve those in the greatest need and with the current economic downturn, we are now serving over 400 families per month. We are a member in good standing with the greater umbrella organization of North York Harvest.
With the pending construction of new facilities at Lansing United Church, effective WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 5th, 2011, the Food Bank will temporarily relocate to the People's Church, 374 Sheppard Avenue East. We will be located in the Northwest corner of the church complex in the bluish-grey portable building. The walk-in and parking entrance is off of Wilfred Avenue just north of Sheppard Avenue.
