Call To Worship

L:  People of the Lansing Faith community, let us hear how God’s Word is speaking to all of us.

A: The Word once again is gathering us together.  It gathers us to pray as one, to sing united, and to shout with exultation that the grave could not hold Christ for eternity.

L: Jesus became the living Word of God speaking to friends and strangers alike.  He travelled down the road uplifting the weak, becoming a friend to the lonely, and bringing about healing to the abandoned.

A:  In God’s Word let us rejoice.  Let us be the Body of Christ in Word as a witness to the love of God.

L: Gather together and let the Word of the Living Spirit of God lead us in our celebrations and praise.

Opening Prayer and Lord’s Prayer   (In Unison. Please be seated.)

God of new life, we look around expecting to discover death, but instead resurrection is found everywhere.  Hope is within us, expectations are high, and faith abounds.  We see lives being transformed; fear is replaced with excitement and confidence gained as new possibilities take shape.  We come to praise you for the Good News proclaimed in the Word which brings about resurrection.  As we pray together let your new life pour through us,

                                                (By LauraTurnbull  modified by Bryan Ransom.)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day, our daily bread;

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

 and the power, and the glory.

For ever and ever. Amen
